About Handy Bento

Small, free tools for everyday jobs, packed into one tidy box and running right in your browser.

What this site is

Handy Bento is a collection of simple web tools for the small tasks that come up every day: making a photo small enough for an upload form, turning a link into a QR code, checking whether an essay hits its word limit, or working out how many days are left until a deadline.

Each tool does one job and tries to do it well. There is no sign-up, no trial period and no watermark. You open a page, use the tool and get on with your day. The current tools are:

We add new tools over time, including quick calculators and generators for new games, apps and releases that people are searching for.

Why everything runs in your browser

Most online tools send your file or text to a server, do the work there and send the result back. That means your photo, document or message sits for a while on a computer you know nothing about.

Our tools work differently. Once a page has loaded, the work happens on your own device, using the same engine your browser uses to display web pages. Your files and text are never uploaded to us, so there is nothing for us to store, read or lose. It is also faster: there is no upload to wait for, and most tools keep working even if your connection drops.

Some tools remember your settings, such as your preferred image quality, in your browser's local storage so they are ready next time. That data stays on your device and you can clear it at any time through your browser settings. The privacy policy explains the details.

How the site is paid for

Handy Bento is free to use and is funded by advertising shown on its pages. We keep ads away from the tools themselves and never use pop-ups, so they do not get in the way of the job you came to do.

Who runs it

Handy Bento is built and operated by HIDYN LOGIC PTE. LTD., a small software company registered in Singapore. We design, write and test every tool ourselves.
